Philosophy
The practice philosophy is one of prevention. We believe that
tooth loss is preventable and it is possible in keep your teeth for life. With
good home care and our professional support we can achieve this.
We like each patient to see one dentist on a continuing basis.
However, if this is not possible for any reason, suitable alternative
arrangements will be made for you to see someone within the practice.
Children are always welcome no matter how young they are. We aim
to prevent dental disease rather than treat it at a later date.
*NHS Treatment and charges
If you are in one of the following categories, you may qualify
for full or partial exemption from charges:
Under 18; Children are accepted only if their parents or guardians are
registered with the practice.
Under
19 and in fulltime education.
Receiving
Social Security benefits.
A family receiving Income Support or Family Credit or on a low income.
If in doubt please ask.
At present NHS patients pay 80% of the total cost of their dental
treatment. These charges are fixed by the Government.
Non‑NHS Treatment
We operate an affordable private dental scheme, Denplan, which
allows you to budget for your dental treatment (both major and routine) by
paying a monthly subscription and avoids the worry of unexpected bills. In
addition, it provides emergency dental cover world-wide.
The scheme allows us to devote more time to the care of each
Individual patient as well as being able to make full use of superior materials
and treatment techniques. If you wish, you can choose to receive treatment on a
'pay‑as‑you‑go' basis, without joining the Denplan scheme. Whichever you
choose, private care pays for the use of the best materials, the best
laboratories and the most advanced techniques available with no time pressure.
Facilities for the disabled
Unfortunately our premises are on the first floor and may not be
suitable for certain types of disability.
